Deformation mechanism of the interaction of point defects in a random elastic medium

A.A. Fraerman

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1997, vol. 241, issue 1, 102-104

Abstract: Deformation interaction of impurity atoms in a statistically uniform and isotropic elastic matrix is shown to be a random variable with alternating signs, having a zero-average value. This interaction may be responsible for the perculiarities of diffusion relaxation in solid polycrystalline solutions that are typical for “glass-like” systems.
