The effect of laser irradiation on the formation and destruction of clusters and cluster arrays

Abstract:
We present a theory of the dynamical effects on the formation of metallic clusters and the geometry of their fractal arrays, introduced by laser illumination. The theory is based on the electromagnetic interactions induced by the laser field and is capable of explaining the enhancement in the speed of aggregation as well as the local distortions in the geometry of arrays.
