A dynamic phase diagram of the planar Ising antiferromagnet

Marcin Antoniuk and Krzysztof Kulakowski

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1997, vol. 242, issue 1, 219-229

Abstract: The cellular automata technique is used to investigate metastable magnetic structures of a square lattice of spins with an Ising antiferromagnetic interaction between nearest and next-nearest neighbours. A dynamic phase diagram is introduced, where an evolution rule is ascribed to each set of values of the Hamiltonian parameters. This diagram also includes a dynamic spin-glass state, formed by instabilities of the magnetic structure.
