Transport between a drifting and a non-drifting gas near the edge of a separating wall

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1997, vol. 243, issue 1, 37-46

Abstract: Transport between a drifting and a non-drifting gas near the edge of a thin separating wall is investigated. Monte Carlo simulations show that net transport of particles takes place predominantly near the edge of the wall. The effects of drift velocity, proximity to the edge, Maxwellian speed distribution, and roughness of the wall are considered.
