Dynamical theory of icosahedral order parameter in supercooled liquids

Kyozi Kawasaki

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1997, vol. 246, issue 1, 64-74

Abstract: An attempt is made to incorporate icosahedral order believed to be present in supercooled liquids into a dynamical theory. We use the representation of Nelson et al., where the physical density is obtained by sterographic projection of hypersphere. Self-consistent mode-coupling equation is obtained to determine the correlator of the icosahedral order parameter and also the density-density correlator.
