Abstract:
The constitutive equations corresponding to the Burnett regime are constructed by means of the projection operator method in an enlarged space of relevant variables, which coincide with the 13 moments in Grad’s method. The scheme of the fluctuating hydrodynamics is developed for such a regime and it is shown how all parts of it fit into the Fox–Uhlenbeck formalism.
