Abstract:
A model is presented to investigate the process of the dissociative adsorption of dimers and study the percolating properties of the dissociated monomers. There is only one phase, the monomer-nonpercolating phase, if the dimer concentration φ is low. If φ>φc, however, the system undergoes a continuous transition from the monomer-nonpercolating phase to the monomer-percolating phase as the dissociation probability p increases. The phase diagram is obtained by numerical simulation. The universality class of the model is found to be the same as for the ordinary percolation model.
