Abstract:
A theory of turbulent temperature fluctuations in the framework of Extended Irreversible Thermodynamics is presented. In particular, we derive an expression for the probability density function of temperature differences between two times. This expression modifies the result of Ching (Phys. Rev. Lett. 70 (1993) 283) for very short time separations. This modification can be, in principle, tested experimentally.
