Abstract:
We analyze the phenomenon of stochastic resonance in a system of interacting particles, each one subject to a double-well potential and an external oscillating field. In this system there exists a symmetry breaking giving rise to a dynamic phase transition between one state in which the particles oscillate between the wells and another in which they are bound in just one well. We present results of the numerical simulations by the use of Langevin method as well as a mean-field analysis.
