Abstract:
We investigate an influence of the charge in the diffusive part of the electric double layer on the character of interaction between distant emulsion particles. The first terms in the asymptotic expansion of the binary interparticle potential are found in the explicit form. In certain regions of the system parameters the fluctuation–multipole interactions are found to be much stronger than the van der Waals ones. A role of the long-range contributions caused by the thermal fluctuations of the particle shape is studied.
