Interfacial curvature in phase-separating binary fluids: comparison between computer simulation and experiments

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1999, vol. 263, issue 1, 369-377

Abstract: We present comparisons of results on the late stage dynamics of spinodal decomposition (SD) obtained by the computer simulation based on the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau equation with hydrodynamic interaction and experiments of a polymer mixture of deuterated polybutadiene and polybutadiene. We especially focus on the curvatures of the interface of phase-separated structures formed by SD and show that the scaling functions of the curvature distributions for the two systems are in good agreement.
