Color ordering of quark matter

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1999, vol. 264, issue 3, 449-472

Abstract: The Landau Fermi-liquid theory is generalized for a system of fermions with a “color degree of freedom” (quark plasma). It is shown that the phase transition to color ordering state may occur depending on the change in thermodynamic parameters similar to a magnetic phase transition taking place for fermions with spin. The problem of thermodynamic stability of color and magnetic ordered Fermi-liquids is considered. It is shown that the stable color-ordered state of the plasma light quarks (u, d quarks) can be at the density n∼1037cm−3 and the temperature T∼100MeV.
