Abstract: We investigate the multifractal properties for the spectra of plasmon–polaritons and light waves in multiple layers arranged in a quasiperiodic fashion. The profiles of the plasmon polariton bandwidths and the light transmission spectra are analyzed and the f(α) functions are calculated for different physical situations. The quasiperiodic structures considered here are the Fibonacci, Thue–Morse and double-period sequences, which are characterized by their Fourier spectra. For the polaritons case, we show that the f(α) functions have a slightly variation for different values of the dimensionless in-plane wavevector kxa. We also show that the f(α) functions of the light transmission spectra are almost independent of the quasiperiodic sequences.
