Abstract:
The migration of a deformed fluid droplet in shear flow at a relatively large distance from a plane wall is considered. A new formula for the lateral migration velocity is derived by the expansion of the interface equation in terms of the small deformation and the large wall distance. Our formula is in agreement with the result of the recent computer simulation.
