Shear viscosity in Friedmann–Robertson–Walker Universes

Abstract:
An irreducible representation of entropy production is used to show that shear viscosity must be taken into account in the analysis of dissipative Friedmann–Robertson–Walker Universes. The resulting field equations are built in the local equilibrium regime and some of its implications are discussed.
