Self-gravitating spherical shell systems and globular clusters

Abstract: A three-dimensional simplified model of globular clusters is introduced and studied numerically. It is a version of the classical self-gravitating spherical shell system where we take into account the evaporation of stars induced by an absorbing external boundary. The density and velocity profiles are studied, and the relation with well-established theoretical models is discussed. Some features of the dynamics, such as the asymptotic evaporation, are explored.
