Light scattering in monatomic dense gases from a kinetic model of the Enskog equation

Dilcléia Dobrowolski, Wilson Marques and Gilberto M. Kremer

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2002, vol. 310, issue 3, 333-346

Abstract: The light scattering spectra of dense monatomic gases are determined from a kinetic model of the Enskog equation in which the reference distribution function is a function of the gradients of velocity and temperature. A good agreement between the theoretical and experimental light scattering spectra is found for values of the pressure going from 0.022 to 10atm, which correspond to the free molecular and hydrodynamic regimes, respectively.
