Statistics of phase turbulence

Hiroshi Shibata

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2002, vol. 313, issue 3, 381-388

Abstract: The static aspects of the statistics for the phase turbulence (PT) are studied in this paper. Their dynamical aspects for the PT were made clear in the previous paper. The dynamics have predicted that the statistics of the PT deviate from the large deviation statistics. In this paper, the statistics of the PT in the case of the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation are shown explicitly and the new type of the statistics is proposed.
