Phase diagrams of ferroelectric thin films described by the transverse Ising model

T. Kaneyoshi

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2003, vol. 319, issue C, 355-361

Abstract: The phase diagram of a ferroelectric thin film described by the transverse Ising model is discussed by the use of the standard mean field approximation and other approximations better than the mean field approximation. Some characteristic features have been observed in the results of mean field approximation. It is investigated whether they are specific to the mean field approximation.
