Universality in turbulence

Abstract:
The universality in turbulence are studied in this paper. In the previous paper, we succeeded in studying the system described by the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation statistical mechanically. In this paper, it is shown that the turbulence described by the two-dimensional coupled map lattices has different statistics between the short time regime and the long time regime. We show that the behaviors of the two different regimes have the same characteristics as those of the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation.
