A solution for non-constant mean open time in homogeneous Markov models

Daniel Fraiman and Silvina Ponce Dawson

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2003, vol. 327, issue 1, 162-167

Abstract: The InsP3 receptor is a ligand-gated calcium channel that is modulated both by InsP3 and Ca2+. Recent experiments have shown that the mean open time of the channel is not a monotonic function of [Ca+2]. In this work, we propose a solution for this type of behavior in a general framework.
