Abstract:
Using nonlinear stability theory in macroscopic traffic flow model, we proposed a new equilibrium function starting from the existing equilibrium functions. The kinematic wave velocity at jam density yielded by this equilibrium function is consistent with the empirical value, and this equilibrium function is related to the critical stability in higher density interval.
