New views of the Gibbs adsorption equation

Abstract: Some underappreciated or often forgotten features and consequences of the classical Gibbs adsorption equation are mentioned. The analog of the adsorption equation for the line of contact of three phases has raised some new and surprising questions, which are discussed.
