Abstract: We examine the critical behavior of a finite alternating ferromagnetic superlattice based on the transverse Ising model. By the use of the transfer matrix method, we derive a nonlinear equation for the phase transition temperature of the superlattice. The critical temperature of the alternating superlattice is calculated as a function of the intralayer and interlayer exchange interactions, the strength of the transverse field and the superlattice thickness.
