Approaching dissipative sandpile behavior from a statistical point of view

Abstract:
This paper proposes an approach to dissipative sandpiles based on Boltzmann statistics arguments. Thus, a physical background, based on the principle of most probable emission and on the assumption we are observing an averaged version of sandpiles, has been established for this type of system.
