Ion-acoustic soliton energy in a plasma with nonextensive electrons

Leila Ait Gougam and Mouloud Tribeche

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2014, vol. 407, issue C, 226-230

Abstract: The role electron nonextensivity may play on the energy carried by the ion-acoustic (IA) solitons is examined. A Korteweg–de Vries (K–dV) equation is derived. It is found that an increase of the nonextensive parameter q leads to a decrease of the soliton amplitude and width. The soliton energy is depleted as q increases.
