New effective field theory for the Ashkin–Teller model

Jander P. Santos and F.C. Sá Barreto

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2015, vol. 421, issue C, 316-329

Abstract: Spin correlation identities for the Ashkin–Teller model are derived. From the correlation identities effective field approximation results for the magnetization, the specific heat, the critical frontiers and tricritical points are obtained. First-order transitions in three-dimensional lattices are predicted. The results of the effective field approximation are compared to those obtained by other methods.
