Abstract: Software test is an important activity in life cycle of software development. If quality of generated test cases is high, number of detected errors before system dissemination would be significant and costs will be decreased. In recent years, different methods have been presented for test cases generation. One of the methods of test cases generation is using UML (unified modeling language) diagrams. Using UML diagrams for test cases generation and applying them in first stages of software development, leads to decrease in costs and efforts. In this paper, first some methods of test cases generation from Communication diagram, Sequence diagram, Activity diagram, State diagram, Class diagram and combination of some diagrams have been explained. Next, Communication diagram, Sequence diagram, Use Case diagram, Activity diagram, State diagram and Class diagram in test cases generation for different part of a system have been compared. Finally, UML diagrams have been applied for case study on depression on internet addiction estimation.
