A review on the Sznajd model — 20 years after

Abstract: In honor of professor Dietrich Stauffer we review the literature on the Sznajd model, which probably owes him not only the name and popularity, but perhaps even the fact that it was published in a scientific journal at all. We start the review with the personal memories on the origin of the model and on Stauffer’s role throughout the story. Then, we describe the original model and propose the new generalization that captures all versions of the model described in the original paper from 2000. In consecutive sections we review the existing literature that was published over last 20 years.
