Abstract:
In the present work, α-phase Fe–V alloys was studied, and the atomic interaction effect on magnetic properties was investigated by Mössbauer and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. The results prove that the magnetic properties of α-phase Fe–V alloys decrease with the increase of V content, and the calculated short-range order parameters of V atoms at the first (Va1−1NN) and second (Va2−2NN) nearest neighbor sides of Fe are positive and negative, respectively, indicating that V atoms tend to gather in the second side. The decrease of interaction energy of Fe–V leads to reducing the anti-ferromagnetism of V atoms, and that of Va1−1NN decreases gradually, but that of Va2−2NN increases first and then decreases. The interaction energy of V–V increases, and has a tendency to inhibit the hybridization between Fe and V atoms and indirectly benefits the ferromagnetism of Fe–V alloy. In addition, the spin magnetic moment of Fe atom decreases first and then increases, resulting in the enhancement of the interaction of Fe–Fe when V content is low. As V content continues to increase, the interaction of Fe–Fe begins to decrease.
