Abstract:
Time cost is an important indicator for evaluating the control protocol of the designed network system. The issue of flocking in Cucker–Smale type models is investigated in this article. Two new switching protocols are articulated to achieve finite-time (FT) and fixed-time (FDT) flocking. Sufficient conditions and the upper bounds of time cost (TC) for flocking are obtained. The influence of parameters and group size on TC is revealed. Especially, the new control strategy proposed successfully reduces the convergence time compared to the general FT and FDT control protocols.
