Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2024, vol. 646, issue C

Abstract: We investigate the quenched contact process within directed complex networks, including directed random networks and directed scale-free networks. Additionally, we explore the contact process within directed general small-world networks and directed hierarchical modular networks. We observed the presence of a Griffiths phase characterized by continuously varying critical exponents of the order parameter. Notably, the directionality of the networks plays a significant role in influencing the Griffiths phase within the quenched contact process. We suggest that the presence of strongly directed connecting clusters is responsible for the changes in the continuously varying critical exponents of the order parameter within directed networks.
