On the spin relaxation in deformable ferromagnets

Abstract:
On the grounds of modern continuum mechanics this work proposes a generalization of the spin-lattice relaxation of Gilbert to the case of anisotropic deformable ferromagnets, along with the associated viscous processes. Various approximations are obtained, among which one results, for very small damping of the spin precession and small departures from adiabatic variations, in the relaxationterm proposed earlier by Akhiezer et al.
