Time evolution and spectral concentration in quantum systems

E. Brändas

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1976, vol. 82, issue 1, 97-112

Abstract: Time dependence and spectral concentration in quantum systems are reviewed. A partitioning technique is presented based on retarded and advanced propagators. The associated fundamental time symmetry is conveniently formulated in correspondence with the classical notion of reversal of time and momenta. Symmetry breakings occur when a particular convolution product is broken up into past and future times.
