Depolarized light scattering from simple fluids

V. Varatharajulu and D.J. Vezzetti

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1976, vol. 85, issue 3, 623-627

Abstract: It is shown that even in single scattering approximation, the light scattered by a simple fluid exhibits a depolarized component which arises from including additional terms in the current density. A new way of measuring the shear viscosity of a fluid is proposed.
