Understanding Γ(ϱ → πγ)Γ(ω → πγ)

Abstract:
In the usual quark-model treatment of the radiative decay of vector mesons, assumption is made that the photon is emitted by the valence quarks alone. This assumption leads to the prediction of the amplitude ratio A(ϱ → πγ)A(ω → πγ) = 13 that is nearly independent of detailed dynamics. The discrepancy with experimental results implies that emission of photon by the sea quarks should be included.
