Second quantization representation for decay of unstable particles

M.D. Girardeau

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1979, vol. 98, issue 1, 139-153

Abstract: A previously-developed second quantization representation for nonrelativistic systems of composite particles is extended to include unstable composites. This representation explicitly exhibits the kinematics and dynamics of the decay of an unstable composite particle into smaller stable and/or unstable composites plus free constituents. The relevant decay terms are exhibited explicitly in some simple cases and their qualitative structure is described in the general case.
