Abstract: A simple heuristic for vehicle routing - A variant of Clarke and Wright's saving method (International journal of Production Economics, 157 (2014), 74–79) contains a mistake that must be corrected. But the mistake also allows for a possible improvement of the search procedure which is demonstrated. We emphasise that the chosen sequence of the distribution, clockwise or anti-clockwise, can highly influence the vehicles' fuel consumptions.
