Abstract: In response to the ever-increasing consumer awareness on carbon emissions and government policies, firms consider adopting innovation-led lean approaches to achieve sustainability in the manufacturing supply chain. The behavior of the key drivers of innovation-led lean approaches to achieve sustainability can vary over time and these variations have the potential to significantly affect sustainable outcomes in the manufacturing supply chain. Currently, the study of the dynamic behavior of the key drivers of innovation-led lean approaches and their influence on sustainable performance over a long time in the manufacturing supply chain is still unexplored. Therefore, this study employed fuzzy logic and Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution (Fuzzy TOPSIS) to prioritize the key drivers of innovation-led lean approaches to achieve sustainability in the manufacturing supply chain based on the evaluations of experts in the Chinese electronics sector. Then, a system dynamics model was developed in this study to investigate the dynamics of the key drivers of innovation-led lean approaches and their influence on sustainable performance over a long time in the manufacturing supply chain. According to the study outcomes, the dynamic behavior of ‘Government regulations’ and ‘Conducive working conditions’ influences sustainable performance exponentially over a long time in the manufacturing supply chain. Our study also reported the dynamics of ‘Cash availability’ and ‘Fundamental knowledge’ and indicate that they are not highly influential on sustainable performance over a long time. This study will insure the key drivers maintain their status to achieve sustainable performance over a long time during implementing innovation-led lean approaches in the manufacturing supply chain.
