Estimation of sunrise and sunset hours for locations on flat and complex terrain: review and advancement

H.D. Kambezidis

Renewable Energy, 1997, vol. 11, issue 4, 485-494

Abstract: This work concerns the calculation of sunrise and sunset hours at a location on complex terrain. This is particularly important to all solar irradiance and illuminance codes that estimate solar irradiance or illuminance on horizontal or inclined surfaces on a specific day at a location on non-flat terrain. Specific formulas are given.
