A fast and accurate methodology for the calculation of the shading and blocking efficiency in central receiver systems

Guillermo Ortega and Antonio Rovira

Renewable Energy, 2020, vol. 154, issue C, 58-70

Abstract: In order to determine the efficiency factors of central receiver systems (CRS) in a reasonable time frame, in particular those relating to shading and blocking, the performance simulation and optimisation codes typically use simplification techniques. One frequent simplification is the assumption that the sunshape model is a point source sun.
