Renewable Energy, 1998, vol. 15, issue 1, 535-540

Abstract: The introduction of grid-connected photovoltaic power generating systems to personal houses and public facilities has recently been promoted extensively in Japan. This paper will review the progress of photovoltaic systems for houses and buildings in Japan. New module technologies and the Japanese government's subsidy program for such applications are also mentioned. The paper will conclude with the prospects for future energy supply systems based on solar cells.
