Abstract:
The development of the competitive electricity supply market in the United Kingdom and government support for renewable energy technologies is discussed. Non-Pooled trading in renewable electricity is described and economic comparisons are made of electricity prices. Experiences in the new market are outlined and a positive future is predicted.
