The status and prospects for the gasification in the County of Split and Dalmatia

Abstract: In order to establish a reliable and environmentally friendly power supply system for the County of Split and Dalmatia, a brief account of the geographic and demographic characteristics, economic structure and consumption of energy and resources of the region are given in this paper. On the basis of the analysis of energy consumption in the County, this study weighs the prospects of gas in achieving a reliable energy supply with preserving the environment. The model of a gas supply for the County has been defined with regard to the present stage of development of the gas supply system in the Republic of Croatia as well as to the energy consumption and characteristics of its parts.
