Simulation of a solar power engine in Rabat

Renewable Energy, 1991, vol. 1, issue 1, 141-144

Abstract: The operation of a solar installation requires a good knowledge of meteorological data. As the intensity of solar irradiation fluctuates randomly, its variation is very important, and the whole system changes its operating regime. So it is not possible to determine average behavior of the system which would permit optimizing its size. For this purpose, we have elaborated a simulation programme to calculate the hourly performances of a solar working machine over one year (1987). In addition to climatic conditions we have studied the effects of the fluid nature, the collector type and the maximal operating temperature on the performance of the installation.
