Abstract:
Using the measured data from six stations in Turkey, two types of correlations are developed to estimate total solar radiation from (i) cloudiness and (ii) a combination of relative sunshine hours and cloudiness. The accuracy of these correlations is compared with previously developed equations based on the bright sunshine data. It has been concluded that the correlation as a function of two parameters, relative sunshine hours and cloudiness, gives more accurate results.
