Evaluation of the functional parameters of the low-pressure gas-phase injectors in different exploitative condition

Abstract:
The purpose and motivation of the study was to determine the possible causes of non-uniformity dosage of gas injectors. Research and analysis of functional parameters were proposed as a solution. The objects of the research were gas injectors with different degrees of operational wear: brand new (BN); in operation (IO); end of life (EoL); remanufactured (RM). The main conclusions of the work were: a) the non-uniformity dosage coefficient, except for the EoL rail (24.16 %), did not exceed the accepted threshold ±2.5 %. in the other cases; b) electrical testing of coils only in the case of the EoL rail, showed an excess of 2.5 % non-uniformity in one of the tested parameters; c) plunger stroke non-uniformity coefficients, except for the EoL rail (60. 95 %), did not exceed 1.5 %; d) there was comparable non-uniformity of opening times (up to 2.5 %) and increased closing times (up to 15 %), except for the EoL rail, where it was 10.51 % and 47.49 %; e) cycle average pressure and radar charts have demonstrated their usefulness. In further research, it was deemed important to identify limit values for comparison and possible classification of injector rails in terms of their operational suitability.
