Optimizing load response programs in generation expansion planning: A real-time pricing scenario with responsive load aggregators

Chen Zhao and Hang Zhou

Renewable Energy, 2025, vol. 239, issue C

Abstract: Generation Expansion Planning (GEP) is a strategic procedure implemented to find the optimal mix and capacity of energy resources, balancing reliability, cost, and environmental effect to supply future electricity demand. It is specifically challenging with the increased integration of renewable energy sources like wind and solar, due to the uncertainty behavior in power systems.
