Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of sand erosion on photovoltaic (PV) module reliability in desert environments, addressing the limitations of existing acceleration models. We designed and built a novel accelerated aging testbed, subjecting modules from two manufacturers (DINEL and VISEL) to controlled sandblasting simulations. We developed a new acceleration model that includes wind speed and sand density, coupled with a fuzzy logic-based data analysis program. This approach enabled the estimation of reliability parameters and the prediction of module lifespan under natural operating conditions in the Adrar region of Algeria.
