A novel solution for heat lag in the combined hydrogen, heating and power system based on PV power supply

Abstract:
To address the delay characteristics of heat transport in various components of the hydrogen-heat-electric coupling system, this study proposes a novel solution for heat lag in the combined hydrogen, heating and power system based on PV power supply. Firstly, the study analyzes the coupling conversion relationship between the multi-energy flows, using steady-state models of alkaline water electrolysis (AWE), metal hydrogen (MH) storage and proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). Then, the study establishes the dynamic heat network model for each component using the polynomial fitting method to obtain the conversion relationship between the multi-energy flows. The goodness of fit (R2) of each function is greater than 99.99 %. Finally, the study investigates the dynamic thermal characteristics of AWE, MH and PEMFC. The results show that heating power closely correlates with the delay characteristic of heat networks. The method used in this study can solve the problem of heat lag and improve the accuracy of component temperature control. Among them, the temperature control accuracy of the hydrogen adsorption process is improved the most, by 12.4 %, followed by AWE and hydrogen desorption processes, and PEMFC has the smallest heat lag, with a temperature control accuracy improvement of only 2.4 % at high electric power.
